When running a Candidate Search or Job Match from the Activities menu of a Candidate or Job record, the originating Candidate or Job record is stored and used to populate the corresponding field of any relevant batch workflows by default.

For example, the candidate search activity is run from the QA Manager job. The Candidate Search is launched and run and the results are saved. 

From the Saved Results, the 'Batch' activity to Shortlist is selected, and the Batch Candidate Shortlist window is launched. Note the Job field has been pre-populated with QA Manager:
