The ICO says:

“The right to data portability allows individuals to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes across different services.”

It applies “to personal data an individual has provided to a controller”

Individuals should use their Right of access to login to the GDPR Portal. From here they can download any personal documentation they have provided e.g. CV, proof of identify etc. and take these elsewhere if required.
