Expanding your search can be vital for you getting the right result. Let’s look at the how and why in your document search.
Multiple Search Terms can be entered, but for each word or phrase a new line must be used. Click on ‘Advanced’ and the ‘Add’ button will appear allowing you to create blank lines under each criteria.
AND
For example, enter the phrase “Customer Services” in the first criteria box, choose the AND logic and enter the word Microsoft in the second criteria box. This will return results where the phrase ‘Customer Services’ and the word Microsoft exist.
OR
‘Add’ a third criteria. Choose the OR logic and enter the word Mac. This will return results where the phrase ‘Customer Services’ and either of the words Microsoft or Mac exist.
AND NOT
Add a fourth criteria. Choose the AND NOT logic and enter the word Linux. This will return results where the phrase ‘Customer Services’ and either of the words Microsoft or Mac exist where the word Linux does not.
Note – The use of brackets in document searching is covered in another article.
